About Debra Lee

Debra Lee is a Philly area songwriter, performing both regionally and nationally as a solo artist and as female lead in award winning husband/wife duo Lyra Project. Her songs are irreverent and sacred, politically and spiritually nuanced, covering the gamut of emotional range, with vocals described as haunting, sweet, and powerful. She is a professional singer, vocal coach and music teacher, and has numerous CD credits as a background vocalist for other artists. She is active in the songwriting community serving as coordinator for the Philadelphia Chapter of Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) since 2007.

I began playing the piano at 4; in grade school I led the other kids in writing songs for music class; starred in the grade school musicals ... on through high school and college, writing, singing, performing, studying and teaching music ... through to the present. I have classical piano and voice training and was a music/English major in college.

With a commitment to Eco-sustainability in transportation and home energy, Debra partners with Rick Denzien, traveling 100% electric vehicle (since 2013), touring regionally, coast to coast and along the Eastern seaboard to music festivals, house-concerts, conferences, and other performance venues.
